The 3M™ Cubitron™ II Flap Disc 967A delivers excellent cut rates in low to medium-high pressure applications. Our discs are ideal for flat or off-edge working surfaces, especially where final finish and not leaving marks is important.
Use the 3M™ Cubitron™ II Flap Disc 967A to improve your cutting rates and achieve one-step grinding and homogenization thanks to its flexible blade design. Our flap discs include 3M PSG grain which provides an exceptionally high cut rate at low pressure. This grain takes the form of triangular points that, unlike traditional abrasives, cut metal cleanly rather than biting or gouging it. These points continually self-sharpen as they fracture, providing extremely fast cutting. Thanks to this, operators can complete demanding tasks, such as weld grinding, rust removal, edge grinding, homogenizing and deburring, with less fatigue. The heat-activated sanding enhancer on the discs makes them an excellent product for all types of metals. This enhancer keeps the blade cool when working on stainless steel and heat-sensitive metals such as nickel and titanium alloys, reducing metal discoloration and oxidation, as well as the risk of heat-related stress cracks. It features a durable, uniquely designed, Y-weight, polyester-cotton backing that exhibits uniform, controlled wear without prematurely dulling or smoothing the surface. This allows operators to achieve more results with a single disc. Flap discs are three-dimensional grinding discs, made up of several superimposed layers of fiber-reinforced and abrasive-coated sheets emerging from a central head. As the overlapping layers of blades wear away, they continually reveal fresh abrasive mineral for a fast, uniform cut, while the cushioning of the blades creates a smooth finish. Under normal conditions, our flap discs will produce a finish one grade finer than the finish of a fiber disc of the same grain from any other manufacturer. This layered design allows more abrasive material to be loaded onto the cutting surface, making them more durable than conventional discs. For this reason, our discs considerably improve productivity in roughing jobs. These discs perform two tasks in one: roughing and finishing in a single step, so they can replace rigid wheels and fiber discs. They are a useful solution that saves time and money in many applications, especially those where the final finish and avoiding excessive marks are important. Our flap discs work on right angle grinders.
