Use our durable 3M™ Cubitron™ II 982C Fiber Disc for a variety of heavy-duty applications, including edge chamfering, chamfering, material removal from carbon steel welds, mill scale, sharp depressions and imperfections, grooving, etc. Our discs raise the bar for high-performance abrasives by providing, with less pressure, up to two times the cut rate and life of conventional industrial ceramic discs. Use for roughing and homogenizing large and small areas on metal surfaces. In demanding applications, more pieces are achieved per disc, reducing the number of disc changes. Our discs include 3M PSG technology, which generates triangular-shaped grains oriented electrostatically on the support. These transform into sharp spikes that act as individual cutting tools that cut through metal with extreme efficiency. The grains wear evenly and continually self-sharpen as the points break. This reduces the heat generated by friction and increases the life of the disc. The rigid holder is made of vulcanized fiber that resists wear and is suitable for demanding grinding applications. Our discs are designed to maximize cutting potential, as well as minimize grinding pressure and operator fatigue.
